Norway Vacation
Norway is an attractive country in northern Europe on the west coast of
Scandinavia. It borders Sweden, Finland and Russia. There are an estimated
4.5 million inhabitants. The largest and most important cities of the
capital Oslo (approximately 585 000 inhabitants), Bergen (about 225,000
inhabitants), Stavanger (approximately 126,000 inhabitants) and Trondheim
(145,000 inhabitants). Norway is huge, many areas of the country are
sparsely populated. There are countless fjords, islands and mountains. The
longest fjord is 204 kilometers long. This shows what enormous proportions
Norway. The highest peak is about 2469 meters high. There are over 50,000
small islands around the mainland. The extension from south to north is
about 1756 km as the crow flies, from west to east 6-430 kilometers in a
straight line. Fishing and whaling play an important role in the small
country population. Each year thousands of tourists, particularly from
